Dale Lutz is the Co-Founder and Co-CEO of Safe Software and the Light The Night - Vancouver Corporate Walk Chair. A farm-boy turned tech entrepreneur, Dale has a Computer Science background with a Masters in Software Technology from the University of Alberta. Over 30 years ago Dale began his journey of writing software for spatial data by tracking forest harvest plans and movements of icebergs. Today Dale still finds ways to use his experience to guide Safe's product direction. In Sept 2015, Dale's son Jay was diagnosed with Leukemia. Shortly after, Jay and the Lutz family were overwhelmed and encouraged by the support shown by their friends and colleagues at the 2015 Light The Night Walk, and ever since then the entire family has been thrilled to participate each year.
